National Economic Platform (NEP)
FDC aims to provide space for debates among the diverse sectors of society and to consolidate broader consensus under one common alternative framework that is founded on social and gender equality, sustainable development and climate justice. It builds a strong movement against neoliberalism.

Debt and Public Finance
FDC insists on the human dimension of the debt problem, and leads the people in claiming the “Social Debt” owed to them after decades of illegitimate debt payments for obligations contracted through corrupt means.
Power Privatization
FDC calls for the total revision of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (Epira) and pushes for an alternative, democratic and sustainable power sector. Since its enactment, the Epira law has not done anything to lower electricity rates.  Instead, it has removed the ownership, management and control of government over its “natural wealth” to private corporations whose only intention in acquiring such properties is profit. The Philippines now has the highest cost of electricity in Asia and probably the only poor country with electricity rates higher than those in the First World.
Water Rights and Resource
FDC works to build a political environment against water privatization and assert the people’s right and sovereignty over water as people’s resource. Recent proposals to implement raw water pricing and to facilitate public-private partnerships for water service projects must be exposed for their misdirected reliance on the same neoliberal principles that led to the MWSS privatization and the recent water crisis.  Towards this end, FDC shall facilitate the strengthening of the advocacy network against water privatization in the Philippines by strengthening local resistance against such proposals and projects, and developing a national network of able champions.
Climate Finance
FDC begins its perspective on climate finance with the principle of reparations for climate debt. It is neither aid nor assistance but a part of reparations that is long overdue. In this context, reparation would not simply mean as “compensation,” but a way of restorative justice for historical wrongs and therefore, also looks forward to repair the injustice and includes measures ensuring that there will be no more returning to actions causing the injury. To reflect this into the national policy, the Philippine government should scrutinize climate finance flows, both outside-to-inside and whether or not it addresses the country’s priority, ensures full participation of affected and vulnerable groups, protects livelihoods and rights of indigenous and local communities, and facilitates the transformation of societies.
Women and Gender
FDC aims to ensure a gendered perspective and understanding of the Coalition’s Social Debt and Social Wage campaign. The program also aims to lead efforts in increasing the integration of the feminist economics framework in FDC’s advocacies and campaigns.
